A New Look As You Enter Burr Ridge
The village is likely to get new entryway signs. The older ones are in bad shape, officials say.

BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge officials think it's time to get new entryway signs.
Three decades ago, Burr Ridge erected entryway signs at its boundaries, according to a village memo released Thursday.
Some of the signs are no longer posted because of wear and tear or damage, while others still present are in bad shape and contain the old Burr logo, the village said.

Village officials propose to spend about $23,000 to erect the new signs at six entryways. The new design will match the sign found at Village Hall, according to the memo.
The new signs' faces would be replaceable, sturdy and pose little chance of rusting, officials say.

A seventh sign would be at Route 83 and 91st Street. Burr Ridge Senior Living, which is at that intersection, previously agreed to provide the village with the entryway sign, the memo said.
The facility unintentionally misplaced the old sign during the 91st Street expansion project, according to the memo.
The new signs will be surrounded by "tasteful but hardy landscaping to ensure a pleasing aesthetic look," the memo said.
The Village Board is expected to vote on the money for the signs at its meeting Monday.
