Pedestrian Struck By Two Vehicles On I-294 Near Burr Ridge: Cops

A pedestrian was struck by a car Wednesday morning and is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A pedestrian was struck by two vehicles Wednesday morning and is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Illinois State Police said the accident occurred at 9:59 a.m. Wednesday on northbound I-294 at mile post 23.5.

According to police, there were several vehicles involved including a pick-up truck, semi-truck and a box truck. Police said all vehicles were traveling northbound when the pick-up truck lost control and struck the guard rail on the right side of the road.

Police said the driver, a 46-year-old man from Glen Ellyn, then exited his vehicle and ran into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons. He was then struck by the semi-truck and the box truck.

The pedestrian was taken to La Grange Hospital. Police said the incident is still being investigated.
