Photo Fight, Music Dispute: Burr Ridge Police

A domestic disturbance happens after a photo is taken of pizza, reports say.

BURR RIDGE, IL — Burr Ridge police have handled a variety of calls in recent days, including neighbor disputes, scams and sightings of suspicious people. Here is information from the latest police reports:

Fights

  • Two family members came to blows after one of them took a photo of their pizza at 7 p.m. June 23 in the 100 block of Tomlin Circle. Neither had visible injuries. Both declined to sign complaints and were considered "mutual combatants."
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 10:30 a.m. June 22 at Extended Stay America, 15W122 S. Frontage Road. A man said he and his girlfriend got into an argument over the phone bill, but it did not turn physical and that he did not know why she called 911. The woman said she did not call 911 and that they did not argue. Police said they saw no injuries to either person. Both said they were fine staying together.

  • A resident on Woodgate Drive informed police June 20 that a pool pump in the 6100 block of County Line Road was above 60 decibels and against village code. The resident suggested police get a sound meter. An officer told the resident he would forward the information to the code enforcement officer.
  • Two residents in the 8200 block of Garfield Avenue got into a verbal dispute about music levels about 11 a.m. June 21. One neighbor agreed to turn down his music, and they exchanged numbers in case another complaint arises.

Driving violations

  • Donte D. Thomas, 20, was arrested June 20 on a charge of DUI. This was after Thomas crashed into a couple of cars about 12:30 a.m. near Route 83 and Circle Avenue, police said.
  • A driver skidded off the road about 8:30 p.m. June 20 near Wolf Road and 79th Street, hitting a traffic signal pole. He said this happened after his brakes locked up.
  • On June 19, a resident in the 7700 block of Forest Hill Road requested extra patrols between 3 and 7 p.m. because of vehicles traveling 40 to 50 mph on the street.

  • A resident in the 10S500 block of Madison Street informed police that five people in hoodies walked up to her patio shortly before midnight June 21 before leaving in an unknown direction. The police were unable to find the people.
  • An officer saw two suspicious people inside a car about 1 a.m. June 21 at Springhill Suites, 15W090 N. Frontage Road. They said they went to their car to smoke a cigarette. They showed the officer a room key, but refused to present identification.

Other

  • A resident in the 700 block of Kenmare Drive told police June 23 that she received a call from "DEA Agent Edward Lee #707456," who said her Social Security card was found in a car full of drugs. The resident said she gave her Social Security number before realizing it was a scam and hanging up. The resident said she had LifeLock and would notify police if fraudulent activity happened in her name.
  • A resident in the 10S400 block of Madison Street informed police about 8 p.m. June 23 that she believed someone had entered her unlocked car and rummaged through it two weeks ago and again a few nights before. She did not want to make a police report. The officer advised the woman to make sure her car is locked.
