Players Draw Police Call: Burr Ridge Cops

BURR RIDGE, IL — A resident reported a group was playing basketball about 5 p.m. April 2 at Stevens Park, 8555 Walredon Ave. A police officer notified the players of the governor's order that bars group activities such as basketball because of the coronavirus.

Here is other information from the latest Burr Ridge police blotter:

• A resident on Turnberry Court saw two people run up his driveway and enter his 2018 Audi about 1:30 a.m. April 2. Taken from the car were his son's wallet, which contained credit cards and a driver's license. The two people left the area in a car after the resident yelled at them from his porch.
• A resident called police about 2 p.m. April 2 to report that a man driving a white or gray pickup truck placed a teal blue Jamis bicycle that did not belong to the man into the rear of his truck and drove away.
• A caller reported that two men were smoking marijuana about 5 p.m. April 2 behind a business in the 600 block of Commerce Street. Officers did not notice any signs of marijuana use, but notified the men of current marijuana laws. While recreational marijuana is legal, it cannot be used in public spaces.
