BURR RIDGE, IL – Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said Monday that he wanted to look into the laws for those on motorized scooters.

At Monday's Village Board meeting, Grasso told the police chief that he wanted to speak with him about scooters, particularly the children who ride them.

He said he was recently "scared to death" by a 12- to 14-year-old "zipping by on a scooter, no helmet."

"I go to work in Hinsdale and see them there," Grasso said. "I'm just wondering what the law is about this. At that age, I know it would be fun. But it seems to me a pretty dangerous thing that seems to be proliferating."
