The man twice showed up at a house in a neighborhood near Willowbrook and Burr Ridge, authorities said.

WILLOWBROOK, IL – A man has twice invaded a house in the Timberlake subdivision near Route 83 and 91st Street, authorities said Thursday.
The house is in an unincorporated neighborhood near Willowbrook and Burr Ridge.
The suspect was described as white, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, and having a medium build.

The first time, he was believed to have entered through an unsecured first-floor window.
While inside the house, the suspect was discovered by the homeowners in the dining room, according to a news release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

The residents tried to unlock the front door for the suspect to leave, which he tried to do but he could not open the door, authorities said.
Instead, the man fled through the kitchen, punched a resident in the head multiple times and left out of the garage entry door, the sheriff's office said.
The suspect returned early Thursday morning, while the residents were asleep, according to the news release. Brandishing a knife, he tried to enter the house, but was unsuccessful. He was wearing a Nike zip-up hoodie and Uline gloves.
