Smaller Lots Would Hurt Burr Ridge Neighborhood: Residents
Increased density and water runoff are among residents' concerns about the owners' request.

BURR RIDGE, IL – The owners of three residential lots just outside Burr Ridge's limit want to annex to the village and have their property rezoned, but some residents are opposed.
The lots in question are along 91st Street near Burr Ridge Middle School and the Devon Ridge and Turnberry subdivisions.
Recently, DuPage County approved dividing the land along 91st Street into three lots. The owners – Zainab Siddiqui, Rayyan Siddiqi, Omar Siddiqui and Sana Khan – want their property under a Burr Ridge zoning designation that allows smaller lots.

A hearing on the request is planned for 7 p.m. Monday at Village Hall. Four residents have submitted comments against the proposal.
"Rezoning ... could potentially alter the character of our community, leading to increased density and changes that may affect the overall neighborhood," Jennifer Bachman, a longtime La Grange-based real estate agent, said in an email to the village. "We are particularly concerned about potential impacts on property values, community safety, and the residential nature that defines our neighborhood."

Neighbor Eric Narsolis also was against it.
"This will create water run-offs on my property," he said in an email. "The house location may be too close to my home and my neighbor's home."
