Summer 2015 Hair - Think Fun, Think HUE

Hues like champagne and violets are not only fun, but super chic, and are not only for blondes anymore!

“Summer 2015 hair color looks are fresh and amazing!” says Ross Bartolomei, owner, Salon Hype.

Whether they are highlighted, hand painted, which is a technique called Balayage, or double processed, blondes have a familiar hue. Yes, I said hue! Because anything more than a hue would be too much. In the 60s, blondes took advantage of the color wheel, stepping out with shades of blue, champagne and even pink hair. Fast forward to 2015 and these hues are BACK and even better than before. The resurgence of the colors our grandmothers wore has returned but with a big difference. In the ‘60s there was only rinses, which means the color would only last until the next shampoo, which explained why grandma only shampooed once or twice every two weeks. Today, the products and formulations are completely different. Hues like champagne and violet are not only fun, but super chic, and are not only for blondes anymore. Of course, it’s somewhat of a fad, but I can see some of these colors staying around. Don’t mistake these hues for intense fashion colors, these are subtle and more delicate looking. At Salon Hype, we are fortunate to have exclusive agreements with L’Oreal Professional, Kerastase, and Inoa, the premier colorist brands, so we have access to hair color and products only a select few ever get to experience. If you are looking for a new summer look, come visit us in La Grange or Burr Ridge for a consultation to explore the options! Summer should be fun and so should your look.  www.salonhype.com
