'Suspicious Person' Report Made Near St. Mark's Preschool

A church official told police the man was allowed to wait for the church to open on their property.

BURR RIDGE, IL - A 27-year-old man was asking the parent of a preschool student at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church questions about the church and school but church officials told police that the man was allowed to be on their property.

The parent called police about a "suspicious person" incident at the church at 15W455 79th St. in Burr Ridge at 7:13 a.m. on Wednesday to report the man. The man told the parent he was waiting for the church to open at 8 a.m. and asked where the school entrance was because he did not want to wait there, according to a police report.

When police talked with a church representative, they were told the man belongs on the property and no criminal charges were filed.
