Trustee Zach Mottl Votes at Board Meetings to Defund the Burr Ridge Police

Zach Mottl consistently votes against paying our police officers’ salaries and for paying for the resources and the training they need to keep Burr Ridge residents safe. He wants them defunded.

Since February 24, 2020, Zach Mottl has regularly voted against 1) paying our police officer’s salaries, 2) buying their ammunition, 3) buying their bullet proof vests, 4) buying their ballistic shields, 5) paying for their training, and so on. Without approving these payments, he is attempting to defund the Burr Ridge police.

When the invoices were due and payment had to be approved by the Burr Ridge Village Board, Trustee Zach Mottl voted NO on the following Board Meeting dates:

The gaps in the above dates were caused by his absence from Board meetings. He was absent on 9/28/20, 9/14/20, 8/24/20, 7/27/20, 5/11/20, and 1/27/20. His abysmal Board meeting attendance record will be the subject of another article.

The Village Board, of which Zach Mottl is a member, must approve paying these Police officers’ salaries and paying these vendors and suppliers. It is clear he does not want the Burr Ridge police force to have the funding necessary to provide for the requisite manpower, resources, protective equipment, and training required to maintain the safety of the Burr Ridge residents. All of the other Trustees have always approved these payments. He wants NO funding to go to the police force, therefore DEFUNDING them.
