Upset Customer, Neighbor Noise: Burr Ridge Cops

BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, police answered called dealing with a restaurant patron upset over politics, a resident fearing an elderly neighbor's reaction to a party and a battle between brothers, among other things. Here is information from the latest reports:

• A customer at Wok n Fire, 590 Village Center Drive, became belligerent and was screaming during a discussion about politics shortly before 1 a.m. Sept. 19. She and her sister were both intoxicated. They were picked up from the restaurant by a relative.
• An officer advised a resident in the 7900 Garfield Avenue on Sept. 17 on how to deal with an elderly neighbor who lives on the floor below and complains about noise. The resident feared the neighbor would call police about a party the resident was planning in a couple of days. The officer said he would brief shift supervisors about the situation.
• A resident in the 9S100 block of Madison informed police Sept. 18 that cameras showed his brother came to the house and seemed upset that the resident had changed the locks. They both own the house, but the resident got an order of protection against his brother. The resident only wanted the incident documented for court purposes.
• An officer was flagged down in the 8300 block of Park Avenue about 2 p.m. Sept. 20. A family said they were concerned about their neighbor after not seeing him for a couple of days. An officer spoke to the neighbor, who said everything was fine and that he was staying inside more often because of the pandemic.
• A semi-truck driver turning right onto Route 83 from South Frontage Road knocked down a traffic signal pole after hitting it with the trailer about 5 p.m. Sept. 21. The driver briefly stopped before continuing.
• A resident reported five large dogs loose about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 8100 block of Lake Ridge Drive. An officer could not find the dogs.
• A resident in the 8400 block of Meadowbrook Drive reported Sept. 17 that semi-trucks had been running since the night before at 16W475 S. Frontage Road. When an officer arrived, he found only one truck running and that driver was about to pull out of the lot. The officer told the resident to call again when trucks were running for an extended time.
• An employee of Angle Tool Works, 16W171 83rd St., informed police Sept. 17 that his car's passenger side tires were low and alleged that a former employee flattened them. The officer found the tires in poor condition and nearly bald. No punctures were seen on either tire. The officer told the person to get the tires looked at. If evidence of criminal damage is discovered, the person was advised to call the officer.
• A woman came to the door of a house twice the afternoon of Sept. 18 in the 8700 block of Aintree Lane to ask about a dog in the resident's front yard. Police were unable to find the woman, who was described as white, in her 50s, having blond hair and driving an orange company truck.
