'Wolf' Report In Burr Ridge Turned Out To Be Coyote

BURR RIDGE, IL - A woman called police in Burr Ridge this week and said there was a wolf in her backyard. When police arrived, they found a coyote nearby.

The woman called the animal complaint in from the 500 block of 87th Street at 11:19 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a Burr Ridge police report. The police officer who responded said he found a "large coyote" near the retention pond behind the woman's home.

The coyote "ran away when I approached it," the officer wrote in his report.
