The woman yelled at other customers, then assaulted police officers, a police report says.

BURR RIDGE, IL — A woman became unruly at a Burr Ridge restaurant and later assaulted responding officers, police said.

A woman was arrested on charges of battery, resisting a police officer and trespassing. Police did not release her town of residence. Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.

About 9:30 p.m. March 12, police were called about the woman creating a disturbance at Capri Ristorante, 324 Burr Ridge Parkway, according to the report. Police were told the woman entered Capri and demanded a seat. She was told she could find a place near the bar. She went to the bar and ordered a glass of wine, then went to the restroom and returned.

While in the bar, the woman fell asleep and then woke up, yelling at customers near her, according to the police report. She was told she needed to pay for her $17 glass of wine and leave.

But the woman refused to leave, saying she wanted one of the other customers to pay her bill, police said. An employee called the police, then the woman walked outside.

When an officer approached the woman, she stood within a foot of him with her fists clenched and screamed at him, the report said. She cursed the officer and spit in his face while she was talking, according to police.

The woman then walked toward the restaurant and told the officer, "You can't stop me," according to the report. The officer told the woman that the manager did not want her back in the restaurant. The officer grabbed her arm and told her to stop, police said.

The woman pulled from the officer's grip and ran toward the door, putting her shoulder against the glass and pushing the door violently, according to the report. The door opens outwardly, but the woman apparently thought she had to push the door to enter, police said.

Two officers tried to stop the woman from damaging the door and entering the restaurant, the report said. She then sat on the ground and kicked one of the officers in the left knee, police said.

The officers told the woman she was under arrest, but she resisted by pulling her arms away, rolling on her back and kicking her legs at them, police said. The officers were able to take her into custody.

At the police station, the woman shoved an officer as she was being put into a holding cell, according to the report.

The officers gave her a chance to call someone, but she had trouble with the phone and would not accept the officers' help, the report said.

The woman was released on bond. When her mother arrived to pick her up, she screamed and cursed, police said.
