Meet the 17 Cherry, MTD's newest bus route (dailyillini.com) — A new 17 Cherry bus route now links key spots across Champaign and campus, including Carle Champaign on Curtis, local schools, the library, and major university buildings. Running weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., it's designed to make healthcare, education, and everyday errands easier to reach for Champaign-Urbana riders.
   

2. Champaign Co. Sheriff republishes 1997 disappearance, looking for new information (wcia.com) — Champaign County investigators are renewing attention on the 1997 disappearance of Heather Zimmerman and are asking anyone with firsthand or credible information to come forward. If you know anything, you can anonymously contact Champaign County Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477, as officials continue working to provide answers and closure for her family.

Champaign County saw lowest price for E15 gas at $4.12 in week ending Aug. 29 (chambanasun.com) — Drivers in Champaign and across Champaign County are paying around $4.18 per gallon for E15 gas, with one station briefly dipping to $4.12 during the week ending Aug. 29. While Illinois' average E15 price was slightly lower at $4.07, analysts say ongoing global tensions, refinery issues, and seasonal demand continue to keep local fuel costs volatile.
   

4. Illini fans dealing with severe heat during first football game (wcia.com) — At Thursday's first Illinois home football game in Champaign, emergency medical crews treated 24 people, mostly for heat-related issues like dizziness and fatigue, but everyone ultimately recovered. Officials say such numbers are typical for an opener and credit free water stations and cooling buses with keeping fans safer in the extreme heat.
   

5. Illinois vs. Duke football betting odds, point spread (thetelegraph.com) — Illinois fans in Champaign can look ahead to next Saturday's home game against Duke at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. local time. Oddsmakers currently favor the Illini by 7.5 points after their season-opening win over UAB, while Duke also enters at 1-0.
