2. Man arrested after Sunday evening stabbing in Champaign (wcia.com) — Champaign Police say a 33-year-old man was hospitalized and later released after a Sunday evening stabbing on Center Drive, and a 42-year-old suspect is now in custody. Prosecutors have charged him with aggravated battery, armed robbery, and weapons offenses, and a detention hearing is set for Sept. 23. Residents may notice the ongoing court process as officials decide whether he remains jailed.
3. Champaign County's six-year bachelor's degree completion rate was 85.1% for the 2018 cohort by 2024 (chambanasun.com) — Champaign County's main public university, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, posted an 85.1% six-year bachelor's completion rate for students who started in 2018, far above the statewide average. The data highlight both strong overall outcomes and persistent racial gaps, offering Champaign residents insight into how local students are faring compared with the rest of Illinois.
