City staff shared information about their jobs with area eighth graders at the 29th Annual Career Conference at the I Hotel and Conference Center. This week-long conference runs January 14-23, 2020, and attracts more than 2,000 students from 23 area schools. The goal is to inform area students about local career opportunities. Mary Catherine Roberson (Community Relations Specialist, Office of Equity, Community and Human Rights) along with Sean Manuel and Whitney Anderson (Firefighters, Fire Department) were among those sharing information about their jobs with the attendees. Organizers hope the presentations will help students as they sign up for classes in high school next year. The event was organized by Education for Employment System.
