Chesterbrook Academy Kids Send $9K to St. Jude's Children's Hospital

Campers participated in a trike-a-thon to raise money for childhood cancer and disease research

Summer campers at Chesterbrook Academy Preschools in the Chicago area - including Bartlett, Champaign, Lisle, Naperville, Shorewood, Westmont, and Wheaton - recently hosted a trike-a-thon and raised more than $9,000 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Students and their families gathered on July 26 to ride bikes, tricycles, and scooters around a homemade course in support of St. Jude’s research to treat childhood cancer and other illnesses.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
