Chesterbrook Academy Preschoolers Deliver 100 Gifts for Children

Students held a toy drive in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program

On Dec. 18, Pre-K 2 students from Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in the Research Park at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign delivered a donation of 98 gifts they collected for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Over the past few weeks, students worked together to collect a variety of gifts for children of all ages. The Pre-K 2 students delivered the donations to a local collection site. The gifts will be distributed to children in need in the Champaign area. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to the community.

Toys for Tots, a 70-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to less fortunate children during each holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by Marines and volunteers offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime.
