November 4, 2021
The Illinois eviction moratorium expired on October 3, 2021. Assistance remains available to help those who have been financially impacted by COVID-19, by taking advantage of Champaign County Regional Planning Commission’s Emergency Rent Assistance program. The program will pay for past due housing costs, such as rent and bills (power, water, sewer). The amount of assistance will be based on each applicant’s individual situation and will not exceed $20,000. Anyone behind on rent due to the pandemic are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
