Fire Engineer Promotional Assessment Center Exam Complete

The 2020 Fire Engineer Promotional Assessment Center Practical Exam is Complete!

Every three years, the Human Resources and Fire Departments coordinate the Fire Promotional Testing Processes for each rank pursuant to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioner Rules, the 50 ILCS 742 Fire Department Promotions Act and the IAFF Collective Bargaining agreement.

The Fire Engineer Promotional Assessment Center (AC) exam took place on July 14-16, 2020, facilitated by the vendor, Illinois Fire Chiefs Association. Thirty-nine (39) fire engineer candidates completed the AC exams which included three practical simulation exercises: pumping, driving, and ladder; in addition to an oral interview component. The next 2020 Fire Engineer Promotional testing is the written exam scheduled for August 15, 2020.

The current Fire Engineer Promotional Eligibility list expires in October 2020.
