This change is in accordance with recent amendments to the Illinois Liquor Code. State law now permits the transportation of pre-mixed alcoholic beverages provided they are contained in a glass, metal, or ceramic container, sealed with a secure cap or lid that is tamper-proof or tamper-evident, properly labeled, and in accordance with all other local and state laws. Alcoholic beverages must also be transported in the vehicle’s trunk, or in another vehicle compartment not readily accessible to the passenger area.
