Police Investigate Overnight Shooting On Sheffield Road
Several people were inside a home on the block of the shooting, according to police.

CHAMPAIGN, IL — Champaign Police are investigating a shooting they say took place Thursday night in the 1600 block of Sheffield Road. Police say they were called to the area at 8 p.m. for reports on gunshots, and upon arrival they discovered several rounds had been fired into a house where several people, including children, were inside.
Although police say there were no serious injuries and no medical attention needed, they say they don't think this was a random shooting.
Police are going through evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to help identify what led to the incident, and are asking anyone with information, or anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, to please contact Champaign Police Investigations at 217-351-4545.
