At Least 1 Fatality After Car Pinned Under Semi: Report

Another person in the car may have been ejected, according to Chicagoland FireGround Scanner.

MINOOKA, IL —A horrific crash on Friday night involving a car and a semi-trailer has left one person dead while a second person remains missing, according to Chicagoland FireGround Scanner's Facebook page. The Minooka area crash was reported around 7 p.m. as having one ejection and a heavy pin at O'Brien Road and Sherrill Road, which is in Kendall County.

The Minooka Fire Protection District responded to the scene. The victim's car was pinned completely under the semitrailer.

In the midst of constant heavy rains, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office had several police SUVs parked along O'Brien Road and several rural roads were blocked to keep passing motorists away from the fatal wreck, even several hours later.

The semi-trailer, with its lights still on, remained at the crash scene as of 9 p.m. Around that time, an Illinois State Police car, with its sirens blaring and flashing neon lights activated, was turning from Route 52 onto O'Brien Road, to help spearhead the crash reconstruction investigation.

The intersection where the deadly crash occurred is extremely rural. It's about 11 miles from the village of Shorewood.
