101 MPH On Route 6, Minooka Man Flees Channahon Police: Cops

Channahon obtained an arrest warrant for Hakeem M. Jones after he sped away from police while driving more than 100 mph, prosecutors say.

CHANNAHON, IL — Will County Judge Fred Harvey has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Hakeem Jones after the 29-year-old Minooka man was driving 101 mph along a stretch of Route 6 with a posted speed limit of 45 mph, prosecutors say.

When Channahon police tried to pull Jones over on March 9, he accelerated his vehicle and even drove in the wrong direction of travel, crossing over the solid yellow lines in a no-passing zone, the criminal complaint outlined.

Thursday's complaint from Channahon police charges Jones with the following crimes: aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, reckless driving and aggravated speeding.

The warrant for Jones' arrest indicates that Jones lives in the 0 to 100 block of Minooka's Maple Street. The warrant notes that Jones is unemployed and has a tattoo of a cross along his right front forearm.
