
Albin J. “Albi” Wellner
Of Morris, formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully at his residence, Monday, November 4, 2024. Age 85 years.
Survived by his children John (Tina) Wellner, Tony (Juli) Wellner and Chris Wellner. Five grandchildren Tony (Kayla) Wellner, Jr., Bryan Wellner, John (Hannah) Wellner, Jr., Tara (Mike) Antos and Abbey Wellner. Six great-grandchildren Emersyn, Jace, Carson and Mia Wellner, Saige Sirek and Paisley Antos. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Albi was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Antoinette M. “Toni” Wellner, who passed in 2015, as well as his parents and siblings Alois (Bernice “Birdy”) Wellner, Marie (Lester) Miner and Natalie (Reno) Downs.

Born on January 3, 1939, in Joliet, Albi was the son of the late Alois and Anna (nee Lasko) Wellner, Sr. He grew up in Joliet, graduating from Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1957. Albi dedicated 36 years of his career to P.T. Ferro, retiring in 2000. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #300, a member of the Southside Civic Club, and proudly belonged to Local #75. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. Albi’s life was rich with simple joys. He loved to play euchre, spent time gardening, canning vegetables and had a special fondness for asparagus hunting with his grandchildren. His family was at the heart of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday. November 9th at 9:30 A.M. to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1329 Belleview Ave, Rockdale at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
