Charles F. Bernardy, age 86, of Minooka, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet. Charles was born on October 23, 1939 to the late Rose (Coglinasese) and Charles J. Bernardy in Chicago where he was raised and educated.

Survived by his daughters and sons, Jennifer Bernardy, Charles S. "Chuck" Bernardy, Joe (Cindy) Bernardy and Vikki Crot (Mike Mizwicki); grandchildren, Katrina Jimenez, Nikki (TJ) Scorzo; Becca (Adrian) Salek, Tony (Haley) Bernardy, Carly (Travis) Stringer and Kori Crot.Proud great-grandfather of Anya, Vinny, Collins, and Blake.Also surviving are his sister, Kimberly (Kevin) Gray.

Preceded by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rita (Duchak) Bernardy; his parents and sister, Loretta Mack.

Charles, a union truck driver for many years was a member of Teamsters Local 705. He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minooka and the Knights of Columbus.He enjoyed bowling and following his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Blackhawks, Cleveland Indians and Arizona Cardinals.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather at 10:45 am on Saturday April 18, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Mary's Street in Minooka, Illinois where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.Inurnment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Minooka.

In lieu of flowers Masses in Mr. Bernardy's name at St. Mary's would be appreciated.
