CHANNAHON, IL — A 60-year-old out of town man is now in the Will County Jail after Channahon police arrested Ali Abuserrieh in connection with allegations of violent behavior at the Alliance Trucking company.
According to Deputy Chief Matt Brooks, at 2:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Channahon officers were dispatched to 24261 Northern Illinois Drive, Alliance Trucking, for the report of several suspicious people possibly armed and threatening the employees.
Upon arrival, Brooks said the officers found Ali Abuserrieh of Oak Lawn, who was aggressively yelling at an Alliance Trucking employee about "pulling a gun out" and was disobeying officers' commands.
The arrest report noted that Ali was attempting to leave the property when someone there relayed that they were choked by Abuserrieh, resulting in his detention while the incident was investigated.
During the on-scene investigation, one gun was recovered from Abuserrieh's vehicle, Brooks said.
In the end, Abuserrieh was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault. He remained in the Will County Jail as of 3 p.m. Thursday.
