Aperion Care Wilmington Completed Major Renovations and Planning More

A lot of renewal has been taking place at Aperion Care Wilmington, which has been undergoing renovations since February 2014 to enhance the environment and make its facility more contemporary and inviting.

Formerly Island City Rehab, the center became part of the Aperion family, changing its name to Aperion Care Wilmington in June. Along with the name change comes the strength of the Aperion brand. The hallmarks of which include a dedication to providing attentive, exceptional care, building strong relationships and enhancing patient quality of life through a consistent team of doctors, nurses, and caregivers in comfortably-sized, contemporary, warm settings.

Resident areas were a major focus in this round of renovations with resident rooms and washrooms being updated. They will be receiving new furniture, flooring, lighting, curtains and wall paint to brighten and lighten the spaces. In addition, new windows were installed along with new heating/air conditioning units. And, corridors were refurbished to include new flooring and handrails. Further, the facility received a new roof. Additional renovations are planned for the common areas in 2015.

Located in the scenic Kankakee River Valley, Aperion Care Wilmington is a 171-bed post-hospital care and rehabilitation facility with 24-hour skilled nursing care, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Post-hospital care and rehabilitation services include joint replacement rehabilitation, as well as orthopedic, post-stroke, and cardiac rehabilitation.
