Arsenal Road and I-55 Ramp To Undergo Repairs

Arsenal Road ramp to I-55 will be closed for two weekends weather permitting, IDOT says.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lane closures will be required for work on the I-55 Southbound Ramp to Arsenal Road.

The work is expected to last for two weekends, weather permitting, on April 24-27 and May 1-4.

  • Friday, April 24, at 9 p.m. until Monday, April 27, at 5 a.m.
  • Friday, May 1, at 9 p.m. until Monday, May 4, at 5 a.m.

The project, which includes patching and other repairs, will be complete by May 4.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
