The Battle of the Bands is just days away. The Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is urging music lovers and garage band groupies to help them “rock the bluffs” this weekend. Six amateur bands have auditioned and been selected to compete for cash prizes this Saturday, July 25, from 6-10:30 p.m. Groups set to perform include: Lakehead of Joliet/Shorewood; Webbly Greens of Morris; As Giants from Crest Hill; and three Plainfield groups, Apollo, Bulletproof ad Lost Connection. Judges will select the winners with the help of the audience. Seating is available in front of the stage and on the hill, so visitors are urged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a fun evening of entertainment in a unique setting.

The event takes place under the outdoor bandshell at the Park, located at 201 West Jefferson Street, at historic Bluff Street along the waterfront. Admission is $5 per person (cash only). Concessions available for purchase. Although Jefferson Street Bridge is under construction, guests are urged to use the left lane on Jefferson Street as they enter for easy access. Ample free parking is available.
