Boys Basketball: Minooka Wins Regional Opener
Minooka 50, Bradley-Bourbonnais 37. Indians win to set up a date with top-seeded Normal Wednesday at Bradley-Bourbonnais.
Minooka’s boys basketball team capitalized on a long road trip for the Class 4A Bradley-Bourbonnais Regional quarterfinals with a 50-37 win over the hosts Monday.
Ben Heide drilled five three-pointers en route to 24 points to lead the Indians (10-19). Heide and teammate Jacob Hogen also advanced in the Three-Point Showdown to Wednesday’s semifinals.
The Indians, the No. 5 seed of five teams in the regional, will be in action Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bradley-Bourbonnais in the regional semifinals. The task will be more daunting this time around, however. Minooka will have to face the No. 1 seed in the regional, Normal, for the right to advance to Friday’s regional title game at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s other semifinal game pits No. 2 seed Danville against No. 3 seed Normal West at 8:10 p.m., directly after Minooka’s game.
The winner of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Regional will advance to next week’s Moline Sectional and will face the Pekin Regional champion on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m.
