Braidwood Man Found Dead, Gold Minivan Still Missing: Cops

The body of Adam Watts, the Braidwood man missing for several days, was found in rural Kankakee County, authorities said.

BRAIDWOOD, IL — The body of Adam Watts, a Braidwood man missing since May 7, was found more than a week ago in rural Kankakee County, Braidwood's Police Department announced Tuesday. The cause of death remains under investigation, police said.

At the time of his disappearance, Watts was traveling in a gold 2001 Chevrolet Venture minivan with Illinois plates DF28356. The minivan has not been located, Braidwood police announced.

A number of search warrants have been performed since Watts' disappearance and several people have been questioned, authorities said. Watts was in his early 40s, police said.

People with information about the missing van or the death of Watts are asked to call Braidwood police detective Sgt. Chris Altiery at 779-249-9092 or contact Chief Todd Lyons by email at tlyons@braidwood.us.

Joliet Patch asked Altiery whether Watts death is considered suspicious. He said that police are not releasing information on that at this time.
