Channahon Bids Farewell To Retiring Police Officer
On Tuesday, the community is invited to a retirement celebration for Officer Ed Bischoff, who served for 29 years.

CHANNAHON, IL — The Channahon community will honor Officer Ed Bischoff, who is retiring after 29 years of service.
On Tuesday from 3-6, the Channahon Village boardroom at 24555 Village Hall will host a celebration of Bischoff’s 29-year-career that is open to the public. Well-wishers can also stop by to honk their horns.
The Channahon Police Department’s Facebook post about Bischoff’s retirement received 526 likes, 227 comments, and 54 shares, which included well wishes from numerous other police departments and local organizations and institutions.

“Wonderful job done Bischoff!!” one user wrote. “Known you many years and I would affirm you've done a wonderful job throughout your career. You are what law enforcement should model when it comes to dealing with people in general. Enjoy retirement!”
“Officer Biscoff. Channahon definitely needs more like you with a understanding of mental health and how to handle those in crisis,” another user wrote. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart what you have done for me and my family.”
