Channahon House Burns Down Near Bluff Road
Channahon's Fire Protection District said the fire was reported around 7:45 a.m. at the empty structure.

CHANNAHON, IL — Several area fire departments helped the Channahon Fire Protection District put out a house fire that began around 7:45 a.m. Monday near the intersection of West Bluff Road and South Edwin Drive.
Channahon fire officials said that a ranch house at the end of a long driveway went up flames and fire was coming from the roof when engines arrived at the scene. Firefighters learned that the house was empty and had been abandoned for some time.
The cause of Monday's fire remains undetermined and under investigation, Channahon's fire district announced at 2 p.m.

In addition to Channahon, fire departments from Minooka, Troy Township, Elwood, Wilmington, Lockport, Morris, Plainfield and Coal City assisted at the scene.
