Channahon Lions Club Encourages Teens to Apply for Scholarship

Deadline to apply is Feb. 24, 2015.

Submitted by the Channahon Lions Club:

Channahon Lions Club awards $1,000 scholarships annually to a number of eligible high school seniors. The motto of Lions Club is “We Serve;” therefore, we award scholarships to students who choose career paths that help others. The seniors of the Channahon community are served by several high schools, including Minooka Community High School, Joliet Central High School, JCA, Providence, and other private high schools. The organization encourages all eligible seniors to apply.

Scholarship criteria:

• Must be a resident of Channahon or Channahon Township

• Must be planning to enroll in a vocational training program or institute of higher learning as a full-time student in a field related to humanitarian services.

Scholarship applications are currently available at MCHS or online at the Channahon Lions Club Facebook page or the following link.

Scholarship applications are due by Feb. 24, 2015. MCHS students may return them per the instructions on the application. Any student may return them directly to:
