Channahon Resident Loses Everything, Fire Destroys Their House
The Channahon home at 26065 West Highland Drive was occupied at the time of Saturday afternoon's fire.

CHANNAHON, IL — A Channahon resident has nothing left following Saturday afternoon's blaze that took more than an hour for the Channahon Fire Protection District and several area fire departments to put out.
Channahon Fire Chief John Petrakis issued a press release indicating the house fire happened at 1:07 p.m. at 26065 West Highland Drive. The fire broke out in the back side of the house and the flames swept up into the second floor and attic.
The Channahon firefighters needed three hose lines to attack the fire and the fire was controlled at 2:16 p.m. Area firefighters called to the scene included Minooka, Troy, Morris, Elwood, Joliet, Lockport and Braidwood.

In Saturday's press release, the occupant of the home managed to escape the blaze without any harm. Nobody was injured putting out the fire.
"The home is completely uninhabitable," Petrakis announced.
