19-year-old Jake Weaver saw an ad looking for extras on “Chicago Med.” He applied and was given the job of being a core extra in the show’s ICU scenes.
Since then, he’s set to be featured more in the show’s episodes.

“It turned into me just being an extra to me being featured as a paramedic,” Weaver said.
While he doesn’t have any dialogue just yet, it’s something he’s working on. For that to happen, Weaver needs to get his Screen Actors Guild card.
“Hopefully in the middle of the season I’ll be able to say lines coming through the doors, what the patient’s saying, who they are, what’s going on with them.”
But Weaver is pretty tight-lipped about what’s happening on the new show, but he’s got nice things to say about his co-workers.
“It’s a great cast and a great crew,” Weaver said. “It’s going to be one of those shows that have you standing up looking at your TV wanting to know what’s next.”
If you want to see a sneak peak of Weaver in action, he can be seen in a promo for the show.
“Chicago Med” is the brainchild of prolific television producer Dick Wolf, who is probably best known for his work on “Law & Order.”
Forming a trilogy, “Chicago Med” will share characters and possibly story lines with “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.”
The show premieres at 8 p.m. central Tuesday, Nov. 17.
