Author and Professor David Masciotra will discuss what Social Capital looks like in action, and use Joliet's own Chicago St. Pub as a perfect example.

The Chicago St. Pub, because of its emphasis on local community and artistry, has become a generator of friendships and connection. The bar serves this purpose, in general, throughout America, when done right.

It is what sociologists call the "third place" - not home, not work, but a place where people feel welcome and at home.

The program will begin at 6:00pm in the Museum's lower level indoor Caterpillar Auditorium. The program is FREE for Museum Members and $6.00 for Non-Members. Walkups are welcome, or you can register by calling Candice at (815) 723-5201 ext. 235 or on-line at www.jolietmuseum.org
