Coal City Elementary Teachers Shake Things Up at McDonald's
Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher's Night to raise money for Coal City Elementary School.
Coal City Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School.
Teachers from the Elementary school volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, May 14th at the McDonald's Located at 2 S. Broadway St. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for the School.
Mrs. Jennifer Kenney, Principal of Coal City Elementary School, was thrilled to see all the families at the event to support the school.

" We would like to thank McDonald's for their support with McTeacher's Night. The fundraising is important in order to sustain our school's Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) program which focuses on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors at school that transfer over into the community". Jennifer said
"We had a great time with our students & thier families. We love seeing everyone outside of school in our community." said Jennifer Kenney

The proceeds from the sale of 240 pies went directly to benefit Coal City Elementary school. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were donated directly to the school.
"McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community," Owner-Operator Marvin Spence said.
Mr. Marvin Spence was delighted to participate in this worthy cause for education and the community.
“We are proud to serve the families of the Coal City Community through the McTeacher's Night event," Spence continued. "In addition to help provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”
Mr. Spence donated the apple pies that were sold for donations during this event and was pleased the know the Coal City families helped to support these fundraising efforts for the school's event.
