Boat Worker Missing Along Des Plaines River
As of 10 p.m., authorities had not located the missing tug boat deck hand along the Des Plaines River near Channahon.

CHANNAHON, IL — Several fire departments in the Channahon area were helping look for a deck hand who reportedly went missing on Monday afternoon from one of the barges along the Des Plaines River.
On Tuesday, ABC-Channel 7 in Chicago reported that the missing deck hand is Artie Odom, who he was last seen aboard the towing vessel Hamilton" near Channahon about 12:30 p.m. Odom is around 50 years old.
The incident was first reported by the Facebook page Northern Illinois Fireground photos. According to the site, the dive rescue was taking place in Channahon in the area between Interstate 55 and the Dresden Locks.

Authorities were looking for a missing tug boat deck hand who was last seen around 12:30 p.m. a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter was being deployed to help with the search, the public safety Facebook site informed its followers.
According to another social media report, the incident was not relayed to the Coast Guard until around 7 p.m. Troy and Braidwood fire departments are also helping with the search.
