At the budget meeting earlier this week, Channahon officials discussed details of the budget for 2012-13, including the price of police overtime for Three Rivers Festival.

is a yearly event that is hosted by the A number of years ago, though, the park district asked the to absorb the cost of Channahon Police Department overtime for working the fest. Three Rivers Festival is a five-day fest.

Channahon Police Chief Jeff Wold estimated between $10,000 and $12,000 is spent on overtime and between $6,000 and $8,000 to staff the fest with additional officers who are not on overtime. A total of between $18,000 and $20,000 is absorbed by the village each year.

Village officials intend to discuss the issue with the Channahon Park District.
