Eat at Minooka Creamery for Free

Come out on June 28 for the first car show of the season.

On June 28, the parking lot of the will be filled with cars, trucks and motorcycles, and not just because it will be the hottest day of the year so far. They will come for the first Minooka Creamery car show of the year.

Years ago, the Creamery partnered with the now defunct NAPA store that was in the same plaza as the Creamery and . When that store closed, the Creamery took over the show.

"This is the fourth year on our own," Cathy Blum, owner said.

Last year, in addition to the more than 100 cars, trucks and bikes, the Creamery had about 500 spectators come out.

The car shows are community events and the whole family is welcome. In addition to food specials, there will be games for the kids.

"It's probably going to be pretty hot, so I'm thinking the super soaker game would be great," Blum said.

New this year, the village of Minooka is offering its building for restroom access.

And, as if it were not enough to head out to the Creamery to enjoy classic cars, you could win a $25 gift certificate to Minooka Creamery. Just drop your name, email and phone number into the box on the counter outside the Creamery for a chance to win. Patch will be drawing one winner at the end of June.

The car show begin at 5 p.m. and continues through 8:30 p.m.
