A change in waste collection providers is coming for all Village of Channahon residents. Environmental Recycling & Disposal will be the new service provider for weekly refuse, recycling and yard waste collection beginning May 1, 2020. The Village Board approved the solid waste, recycling and yard waste collection and disposal contract with Environmental on March 2, 2020.

The new refuse service with Environmental in Channahon includes:

• Your choice of a 95-, 65- or 35-gallon cart for refuse pick-up. There is no difference in pricing between sizes.
• Your choice of a 95- or 65-gallon cart for recycling pick-up. There is no difference in pricing between sizes.
• No more yard waste stickers. Simply place your yard waste curbside in biodegradable bags or in the provided 95-gallon yard waste cart.
  • Yard waste season starts the week of March 15 and ends the week of December 15.
  • The 95-gallon cart for yard waste is included at no additional charge and can be used for refuse off-season.
• One bulk item pick-up per week and one appliance pick-up per week.
• Discounted rates for seniors and 100% disabled veterans.
• Quarterly E-waste pick-up ($35/item)
• Additional cart rentals ($6/month)
