Volunteers from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting Vessel Safety Checks for recreational boaters. There is no charge for the exams, which do not result in enforcement action. If a vessel owner has all the required safety gear, they may qualify for the 2012 decal.
Located in Morris, follow Rte. 47 to Illinois Ave. and turn west. Proceed on Illinois Ave. to Calhoun St. and turn left. Crossing over the Illinois & Michigan Canal turn left on Griggs St. and proceed straight to William G. Stratton State Park.
