Forklift Mishap In Channahon: Verdeco Plastics Worker Hospitalized

Channahon's Fire Protection District said other employees at the Youngs Road business managed to free their coworker from the forklift.

CHANNAHON, IL — A man in his 60s who works at the Verdeco Plastics Inc. on South Youngs Road was conscious and alert after being rescued Monday during a forklift mishap at work, according to the Channahon Fire Protection District.

Channahon rescue crews were sent to Verdeco Plastics around 8:20 a.m. after learning the man's arm was trapped underneath a forklift inside the building.

By the time Channahon's ambulance arrived, coworkers managed to free the man from the forklift. Channahon's deputy fire chief told Patch the man's arm got caught under the forklift.

The injured worker was taken to St. Joe's hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening, the Channahon Fire Protection District stated.
