Fundraiser Aug. 8 to Help Joliet Woman Get Service Dog

Annmarie Zan's former service dog died unexpectedly and a new one is needed to help her with her seizures and PTSD.

Annmarie Zan is a 57-year-old disabled widow who suffers from severe seizures and PTSD. For the past six years, Zan had a service dog, Samson, that helped her, but Samson died suddenly and Zan’s life has become very difficult for her. She is having grand mal seizures daily and PTSD attacks almost as often.

To help Zan get a new service dog, a fundraiser will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 8 at Joliet Town and Country Lanes at 2231 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet. Tickets will be $25 for adults and $15 for kids ages 5 through 13. A purchase of a ticket includes three games of bowling (with shoes) and pizza. Between $10,000 and $12,000 is needed for the dog and additional expenses.

A silent auction and raffle prizes will be available. Contact Dottie Groesch with questions, to make a donation or for tickets at 815-573-7902 or email her at dottiegroesch@gmail.com.
