High School Bomb Threat Investigated by Channahon PD

Channahon Police say they are taking extra precautions to make sure the high school campus is safe on Wednesday.

CHANNAHON, IL — The Channahon Police Department said it has taken extra precautions at the Minooka Community High School south campus after learning of an anonymous bomb threat at around 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

"Officers made an immediate safety sweep of the school building and property, where no threat was found. Additional officers remain at the school out of an abundance of caution to ensure students and staff are protected. School Resource Officers will be inside the building for the entirety of the school day," Channahon Police posted on Facebook.

According to police, the officers are working with the high school staff to identity the source of the threat. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Channahon Police Department at 815-467-2112.
