I-80 Crash: Car Collides With Semi At Off-Ramp Near Minooka
Illinois State Police District 5 responded to the fatality at mile post 118.

MINOOKA, IL — The Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened over the weekend at the I-80 westbound ramp to the Three Rivers Rest Area. The crash killed 48-year-old Steven Shambora of St. Charles, police said. The fatality happened at 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning, August 10.
"According to preliminary investigations, the Toyota Camry was traveling on the ramp from I-80 westbound to the westbound rest area. The truck tractor semi-trailer was parked on the right shoulder of the ramp at the entrance to the rest area. For unknown reasons, the Toyota drove off the roadway and struck the rear of the semi-trailer," police said.
The St. Charles man was pronounced dead at the scene by Grundy County's coroner.

"There were no other injuries reported. This remains an ongoing investigation by the Illinois State Police and no further information is available at this time," police relayed.
