Joliet Junior College Accepting Applications for Board Trustee
The board is seeking to fill the spot after longtime Trustee Jeff May resigned in late July due to health reasons.

Joliet Junior College is accepting applications through Aug. 21 to fill one vacancy on its Board of Trustees. Interested candidates must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older, and a resident of District 525 for at least one year immediately preceding the date of appointment.

“Our board of trustees provides visionary and dynamic leadership for the college,” Dr. Debra Daniels, JJC president, said. “If you are interested in positively impacting students and building a better future for our community then please consider this role. Community colleges serve one million students in the state of Illinois. We make a difference.”
JJC is directly governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are elected from within the district for six-year terms. A student representative, appointed annually, is a non-voting member of the Board.

Illinois Community College District 525 is one of 39 community college districts governed by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) under the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).
To apply, candidates should submit a letter of intent which includes a summary of why they would like to serve as trustee as well as a current resume. Applications should be submitted to Kelly Rohder via email at krohder@jjc.edu or mailed to:
