Joliet Teacher Wins Monday 'Jeopardy' Appearance
The Sator Sanchez Elementary teacher will now advance to the finals.

Joliet teacher Kaberi Chakrabarty won Monday's episode of Jeopardy.
Although in the Friday episode she only took second place, it earned her a Wild Card spot, allowing her to play in Monday's game, according to the Chicago Tribune.
She earned $31,201. Her competitors Peter Buchholz and Nicole Throckmorton came in second and third, respectively, taking home $23,201 and $18,800.

Chakrabarty came in second on the May 6 show, taking home $11,600.
Her competitors, Cory Harris and Bill Knuth, came in first and third, respectively, with $16,798 and $9,999.

Chakrabarty, who is a bilingual teacher at Sator Sanchez Elementary School, also received a $2,500 educational grant to fund classroom projects.
Chakrabarty said she plans to spend the money on hands-on material for her students.
“Our bilingual kids are still learning English so they really can use things to work with to help them learn,” she said in a YouTube video.
